2018 Llanelli Art Society
Cymdeithas Gelf Llanelli
The exhibition was officially opened at 11am by Alun Gibbard, an established writer and well known local author. Opening Day was chaired by our President, Patrick Mansel Lewis and representatives from both Town and Rural Councils were in attendance. Andrew Evans, our adjudicator, a full time professional artist from Llandeilo who has exhibited widely in the UK and internationally decided winners for both the Bill Nicholas and Huw Richards Awards. These went to Cheryl Stone for her watercolour 'Winter Sunrise, Mumbles' and to Arthur Brown for his oil painting, 'The Accused'.
Andrew gave commendations to several other members and it was good to see one of our members exhibiting for thier very first time with the Society, receiving such a commendation.
Attendance at the Exhibition has been brisk and there is still time to visit the show. You will discover art work in a wide variety of styles and mediums in this winter’s exhibition and whilst a few of our artists are professional, the majority are amateur.
Our opening times are 10am to 5pm each day, entry is free and everyone is welcome. So please pay us a visit and take a little time out to enjoy some of the local talent that Llanelli has to offer.
